Apple MFi Certified Lightning Cable 3.3ft Nylon Braided - 3 Pack for iPhone 12/11/X/8/7/6 & iPad | Durable Fast Charging Cord for Home, Office & Travel (Black/White/Red)

I purchased one Pawtec Tangerine Orange 3.3 foot Lighting cable on 11/20/14 for $19.99. It looked good and worked fine until a few days ago - less then 9 months after I started using it to charge my iPhone 6 every night. When I plugged it into the phone, the tip of the cable broke off in the phone's charging port. It was fairly easy to get the broken tip out of the iPhone's port after trying several tools to find one that worked. The cable was gently used as I am retired and leave the phone plugged into the cable for long periods of time to keep it fully charged until I need it - approx. 4-5 times a week. It looks brand new but can no longer plug into the phone. I'm very surprised and disappointed as it feels and looks very strong - I thought it would last many years - not less than 9 months. It has a 1 year warranty but I can't find the contact number for Pawtec customer service on amazon's web site. I'll try to google it and add to this review with an update after I see if they honor their warranty and how easy or hard it is to get a refund or a new cable. I am really annoyed with having to spend time trying to resolve this problem - both my wife and I have serious health problems and it's draining and aggravating spending what little energy I have on this when I'm struggling to get other more important chores done.The cable charges my new Iphone 6 Plus well. Quality feels good. Only concern is that while it is charging, I cannot use my fingerprint feature to unlock my phone. Also, I had an occasion where the phone was acting all weird (opening app on its own) when the charger was charging my phone.Overall, I will not recommend this but it does feel solid compared to standard white cable.[edited 12/18/2014]I just want to revise my review from 3 to 4 stars due to learning the cable is not all defective. Only 1/3 cable had the issue mentioned above. However, not worth the time and money to return all 3 so yea and already passed my return period. Overall, this is one of the better quality cable vs other cables I've owned. If it wasn't because of 1 defective cable, then it will be a 5 star worthy product.So far, this cable is working great. I know that most non-Apple cables are known for being finicky, if not being dead right out of the box. Unfortunately the Apple cables haven't been great for me either, always seeming to fray after a few months near the lightning connector. So, I specifically wanted a braided cable that was a little more resilient. This one seems to be doing the job nicely. It's MFi, and has been working great thus far. I was a little wary because a lot of the reviews on these are from people who "received it free from the manufacturer" but supposedly made no promise of a positive review.Update: my original cable stopped working because the lightening connector started to come loose. But after getting in touch with the company, they sent me a new cable no questions asked.Heavy duty cable. Works great and have been using for a while now. Only issue I have is that the end that plugs in the phone is bigger than the end that is standard with Apple. That becomes a problem when you buy cases for your phone that assume the cable end will be the same size as the Apple cable. I have to take my case off each time I use this cable. Might be more of an issue with the Meta Armor case that I have but would still be nice if this was the same size as Apple's cable.The orange fabric that covers the cable started to come off from the ends after a couple of months, even though I always used it carefully. The cable still works fine but it certainly doesn't look good with the fabric out. I contacted customer service to complain about the fabric coming off and they sent me another cable very quickly, which I appreciate, I just hope I won't have the same problem with the new one (I probably will because the same happened to a friend with the same cable).I now have an Anker white cable and it's WAY better than this. It's also significantly longer, which I love.I cant say enough good things about Pawtec cables. I have gone through many different other types of cables to try and be "cheap" and they have never lasted. These Pawtec cables are SOLID! I actually own 4 lightning cables and 4 mini usb cables. stop looking anywhere else and invest in this!!! You will not regret it! THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS CABLE APART FROM HOW STRONG AND DURABLE IT IS....THE CONNECTOR WILL NOT EASILY SLIDE OUT OF YOUR PHONE OR DEVICE! it is very secure! i've dropped my phone while driving and used the cord that my phone was connected to to retrieve it! any other cable would have unplugged.They work good now it Is just after a month or two....so we will see how that goes ....check back then..I purchased this cable about 3 weeks ago because I kept breaking all of the other ones we had. When I charged my device with the oem cords, they kinked at the end of the plug, and eventually failed due to that stress. Yes, there are ways to not kink it (talk to my husband) ,but in my opinion the cords should not be defective like that. Pawtec apparently agrees with me because their cord...and the advanced braiding technology doesn't let the cord kink like the oem cords. I did wish that the cord was longer than 3.3m though. I also think the metal bracket is more durable than the plastic iphone ones.Worked for a short while then stopped, not Apple certified as it took it too Apple to query! I have iPhone 7Not sure if they really are Apple approved but they work and the green colour means my kids can't take them and pretend that they are theirs. Work well.Poor quality and broke on first use! Lucky the connector head came off easily or it would’ve been a costly repair.My husband gets through phone chargers like anything so when I saw this cable I thought I'd give it a try and it's great.This cable has lasted far longer than the original one did. Very sturdy and works on my computer, in a wall socket and in the car.
